However, after a good rookie campaign, Floyd regressed each year after that and looked nothing like the player that they thought he could be. After Floyd was arrested for an “extreme DUI,” the Cardinals cut the troubled receiver. When the Minnesota Vikings signed Michael Floyd, it was after an intensive interview with head coach Mike Zimmer.
Floyd was found guilty of the charges stemming from his arrest while with the Arizona Cardinals and was sentenced to 24 days in jail and 96 days under house arrest. The charges were falling asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .217. The NFL met with Floyd in June and have now handed down his penalty. What was thought to be a two-game suspension became four games.
